The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools some additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (Year 6). The purpose of this funding is to enable schools to target funding to deliver additional support for those students who need it most.

Direct Instruction program - a targeted intervention program to improve reading, spelling & numeracy age to be line with age related expectations.
DEAR – Drop Everything And Read – students are given time within the school day and resources to develop their reading skills.
These initiatives were also part funded by our Pupil Premium funding and the outcomes seen from these joint funded interventions are included within our Pupil Premium report.
